Starting in Beijing, witness the massive rebuilding of the entire city in preparation for the 2008 Olympics. You'll see the old hutongs via pedicabs. Visit Tiananmen Square on the eve of the 15 year anniversary of the 1989 uprising or harken back and experience the life of a concubine in the Forbidden City. Walk along the longest corridor in the world at the Summer Palace.

In Shanghai, walk along The Bund, the river front area. Sense the peace of spectators watching other revelers dancing, singing and playing native instruments near an ancient tea house and garden.

The Yangtze River, one of the most famous waterways in the world. Travel from the western plains through the absolutely massive Three-Gorges Dam and up through the beautiful and haunting Three-Gorges. Culture abounds here from gongs along the river to historic hanging coffins along a tributary.

Xian - the locale of the Terra-Cotta Warriors. Acres of clay warriors, some restored and others still in the state they were found in after being destroyed by marauders. A rare sight to behold even tops this - a glimpse into the life of the man who found the warriors - he cannot even afford to visit the museum as he received no financial reward so he now signs books in the museum shop.

See local artists work on their wares, such as cloisonne, and smile at the kids in school singing and laughing. Also, visit with bears and pandas in their home country.

After visiting the breathtaking landscape in Guilin, travel to world-class Hong Kong. From architecture designed by I. M. Pei to beaches to Kowloon's own medicine shop selling Snake Penis Capsules.

The DVD that will be used for this are DVD-R's. This is a cool new recordable DVD technology that is playable on most DVD players and DVD-ROM drives in computers, but as it is a new technology, it doesn't play 100% everywhere. If you order the DVD, there is a small chance it won't work on your gear. Let me know at that point and we will work something out with a VHS tape. Or, go to the local stereo store with this China DVD and buy a new DVD player that plays the DVD, DVD players are cheap now! Also, you can check the compatibility list to see if your player is listed. Ask me if you have questions.
